Victor Sheen's album Barvy(in english Colours) is a highly introspective account of the changes his daughter Victoria has brought to his life. She is not only featured on the original cover art, but is the main source of colour - both emotionally and visually - throughout the album. The underlying motif is the contrast between the dark past and the new found light.
In the redesign, I focused on the visual translation of this transformation - from a black and white world to a colourful one. The main character "Barvy" is designed as a child's doodle, symbolising Victoria's present and new outlook on life.
The beginning of the text is choppy and blurred, referring to negative experiences and periods of darkness. However, it gradually transitions into clean, distinct lines that represent a new direction, clarity and stability - what Victor describes in the lyrics as "the colours in his world".
